Emergency Triangles
Carrying Emergency Triangles
At least one double-sided reflective triangle, meeting SABS specifications, must be always carried in all motor vehicles. (Vehicles registered before 1 July 2006 are exempted.)
Placing of Triangles
In the event of a breakdown or vehicle being stationary on a public road, the triangle must be displayed at least 45m from the rear of the vehicle, with the reflecting side facing traffic approaching the broken down vehicle.
