Accidents
When Involved in an Accident, You Have to do the Following:
Stop Your Vehicle Immediately

By law, you have to bring your vehicle to an immediate stop. You are not allowed to drive off or flee the scene.

Determine Injuries

Ascertain the nature of any injuries to make a decision as to call for medical assistance.

Provide Assistance

While waiting for authorities or emergency workers, provide any possible assistance to any injured person.

Provide Information

Provide your name, contact and address information, as well as that of the owner of the vehicle, where applicable, to any person who legally requires it, such as the owner of other vehicles involved.

Report the Incident

If no traffic or police officer were present on the scene, you need to report the accident to the Police within 24 hours.

Do Not Take Liquor or Narcotics

Do not take in any liquor or narcotic drugs before reporting the incident to authorities, unless you have been instructed to do so by a medical professional.

In the Event of Deaths....

i. In the event of a death, you need to contact emergency services immediately. Do not move any vehicles and wait for traffic or police officials to arrive on the scene.

ii. In the event where vehicles are completely blocking all traffic, you may mark the position of the vehicles on the road, and then move them just enough to allow traffic to move again. The markings must be clear and this must be mentioned and explained to authorities upon arrival.
