Traffic Lanes
Keep Driving in Your Lane
Keep driving in your lane, unless you have to move to another lane and it is safe to do so.
Give a Warning of Your Intentions
Before changing lanes, always check your mirrors to ensure it is safe to do so. Also provide other road users with early warning of your intention to change lanes by switching on your indicator.
Check Your Blindspot
Immediately before changing a lane, look over your shoulder in your blindspot in order to ensure it is safe to change the lane.
Do not Straddle Lanes
Do not straddle the lanes with part of your vehicle in one lane and the other. Move over directly into the lane, between the painted lines.
Crossing or Entering Roads or Lanes
Crossing or Entering a Road or Traffic Lane
You are not allowed to enter or cross any road or traffic lane if your vehicle is likely to cause a dangerous obstruction to the flow of traffic or cause an accident.
