Lights
White Light Only
Head lights must emit only white light.
Direction Indicators
Your direction indicators must be visible for a distance of at least 30 meters.
Stop Lamp Visibility
Your stop lamps must be visible for a distance of at least 30 meters.
Using Fog Lights
Fog lights should never be used on any road, unless road conditions include fog, smoke or dust.
Motorcycle Lights
Motorcycle lights must be switched on at all times during night or day.
Other Vehicle Lights
Other vehicle's lights must be switched on between sunset and sunrise.
Poor Visibility
Headlight must be switched on when visibility is not clear for at least 150 meters.
Main Beam
The main beam must be capable of lighting up objects at least 100 meters in front of the vehicle.
Oncoming Traffic
The main beam must be dipped for oncoming traffic and may not strike the road surface for more than 45m in front of your vehicle.
Flashing or Strobing Lights
By law, only certain vehicles may be fitted with flashing or strobing lights.
After-Market Spot Lamps
No more than 2 after-market spot lamps may be fitted on the front of any vehicle.
Adjustable Spot Lamps
Only official vehicles, or those used by medical doctors, veterinarians and breakdown contractors may be fitted with adjustable spot lamps.
